About Llanafan Women's Institute

The single-storey cottage, Bronheulog, is believed to date from 1832 and was given by the Countess of Lisburne to the Women’s Institute as a meeting room in 1918. It is one of very few properties in the UK to be owned and managed by a local branch of the WI.
The building is Grade II listed as it’s of historical interest as a very early W.I. hall and for its connection to the nearby Trawsgoed Estate.
The WI is an inclusive, supportive and progressive organisation for all women. Our mission is to create a world where women come together to learn, share skills and work together to become active citizens, influencing change to improve lives in their local, national and global communities.
Our movement offers women of all ages and backgrounds a unique chance to come together and share experiences, tackling social isolation and building community cohesion.
We support women to learn, develop new skills and achieve their goals throughout their lives, building confidence and improving physical and mental wellbeing.
We empower women to use their voice individually and collectively to achieve real changes on the issues that matter to them.
