About National Foundation for Retired Service Animals
The NFRSA is a charity supporting retired dogs and horses from the Police; Fire & Rescue; Prison; Border Force; and National Crime Agency services with medical and veterinary care.
When an animal retires, funding stops and insurance is almost impossible to find due to the animals age, and career.
Most stay with their original handlers, although some are re-homed, but when an animal falls sick, vet bills can be a challenge, and the NFRSA offers financial grants to cover these costs.
We ‘Protect Our Protectors’, and we passionately believe it is our way of acknowledging and thanking these heroic animals, who have spent their lives keeping us safe. It is our turn to keep them safe in their twilight years.
We rely completely on the generosity of those animal lovers who support our work.
