Northumberland Wildlife Trust Northumberland Wildlife Trust is a charity dedicated to protecting wildlife and habitats within Northumberland, North Tyneside and Newcastle and educating people about nature conservation.
Part of the wider family of 46 Wildlife Trusts in the UK, we manage over 60 local nature reserves and work in partnership with landowners, companies, local authorities, local communities, schools and other organisations to restore, recreate and re-connect the landscape across the North East, allowing wildlife to move freely and thrive. An equally important part of our work is to inform and engage people across all age groups about nature through a comprehensive programme of events, activities and resources.
We have over 9,000 members, approximately 50 staff and over 300 volunteers. Each year, approximately 190,000 people visit our nature reserves; we work with about 3,500 school children; we run events engaging about 4,500 people; and our website (www.nwt.org.uk) attracts 91,000 unique visits.
