About Tibetan Education & Relief Association
The Tibetan Education & Relief Association including Himalayan Communities – or ‘T.E.R.A.’ - was founded in 1986, and since then we’ve been creating better lives for the very poorest people of impoverished multi-ethnic communities in India, Nepal & Tibet.
Throughout our history, we’ve helped to support these people with what the western world would consider as ‘basic needs’ - education, health and welfare. Thanks to direct personal connections with our representatives on the ground in Nepal and India, we’re well-placed to quickly respond to requests for help. Through the dedication and commitment of a small international team, our help has reached thousands of people by transforming your donations into emergency food parcels for Covid-19 relief, medications and equipment for lepers, school fees for children, outside toilets for a rural community, winter uniforms for schoolchildren, and so many more essentials that they would otherwise struggle to find, or simply not have at all.
Our Executive Members accept no salary and voluntarily pay for their own expenses so that 100% of your donation goes directly to those in most need. T.E.R.A. is registered for Gift Aid, so that UK taxpayers can make their donation worth 25% more at no extra cost to them.
