Charity e-card initiative DontSendMeACard.com reports that the number of charity registrations to the platform has more than doubled in a year.
Founder Alex Furness says “Last Christmas was a record year in donations with charities seeing a sizeable amount donated in lieu of cards. We’re delighted to see so many more causes join to fundraise for Christmas 2018."
The site allows charities to create an account and upload their own e-card artwork, and then share with supporters a unique donation page to give in lieu of Christmas cards.
After donating what they would have spent on sending cards, the donor then receives a link to a page where they can send e-cards with personalised messages to their friends and family.
Charities gain access to their own account dashboard where they can manage their campaigns and access fundraising resources built by the initiative.
Alex adds “It works for charities to offer this as a solution for Christmas cards as not everyone wants to perform the chore of sending physical cards. Also many prefer to give the cost of cards and stamps – but also want to mark the occasion – which can be done in a few clicks using our system.”
