North Yorkshire Music Therapy Centre The NYMTC is a charity founded in 1989 to promote health and wellbeing in North Yorkshire through the use of music therapy. Our registered therapists deliver individual and group sessions to children in SEN schools, to elderly living with dementia, to individuals and families facing mental health issues, and to many other groups within the community, including women victims of domestic abuse, pregnant women and parents with infants or young children in need of support.
Music therapy helps people meet individual therapeutic goals, helping with physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing, and assisting with social and community cohesion. Research shows that music therapy, for both individuals and groups, can be beneficial for anyone, with or without special needs, from infants to the elderly.
