Porridge and Pens Ghana Porridge and Pens works with children living in poverty in some of the poorest areas of Ghana. The aims of the charity are to break the cycle of poverty through education. The charity provides education, food and welfare support to over 200 children daily through their projects.
The charity supports Brightlingsea Academy, a school for children from 1 to 10 years old, to provide education and two meals a day to 150 students.
The Porridge and Pens Girl Power Project awards educational grants to vulnerable girls and young women to help them complete their schooling. The Girl Power Centre offers a safe and welcoming space for girls to meet and receive support. The emergency accommodation offers a bed to girls without a roof over their heads.
