The ExtraCare Charitable Trust We exist to ensure better lives for older people. We are all living longer – there are now more people aged 65 or older than under 16. As a charity we celebrate this, but for many old age promises isolation, ill-health, discrimination and dependence on others. It doesn’t have to be like this.
Founded in 1988, we operate retirement villages and schemes in the Midlands and further south. We create sustainable communities that provide homes older people want and lifestyles they can enjoy. Funds raised help those older residents who are more vulnerable, through supporting our dementia, wellbeing and care services, and research programmes.
