The Woodland Centre Trust (Camp Mohawk) Camp Mohawk. A multi-activity day centre for children with special needs and their families set in five acres of beautiful countryside in Berkshire. Each year Camp Mohawk welcomes around 1,000 individual children with special needs including Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Downs Syndrome, cerebral palsy, sight and hearing loss and other physical and cognitive disorders to play, socialise and learn in an accessible, accepting and fun environment. Parents and siblings can come along too so whole families can relax together and meet others with similar experience of family life. After-school clubs for children living with Autism encourage social skills and foster independence. Families describe Camp Mohawk as a 'haven' or a 'lifeline', supporting them as they manage the challenges of caring for their child.
